Radio Reset

Postby volvoS70 » 06 Aug 2007, 18:36

Hello, was wondering if anyone had any advice on resetting the radio on a 2000 S70. The radio started displaying 'CODE' when I turned it on. I had no idea what this meant so, naturally, I started pushing as many buttons as possible. When I punched in 6554 it gave me the 'OFF' message. Then I read some posts on this forum, found my radio code in the manual, and need to get back to the CODE screen. any ideas besides leaving the car on for 3 hours?

You can either disconnect the battery or unplug the radio. Which ever is easiest for you. Leave it without power for about 5 minutes. That should put it back to the code screen.

Push in the tabs on each side of it to reveal the grab handles, and then just pull it out from the dash. Once out, you will see where the plug-in's are in the back...unplug the large rectangular one.

That usually does not work, do the two hours until it says CODE again.
The get the CORRECT code to input. NEVER try it more than twice, the 3rd time it goes to OFF and you will have to go thru the reset process all over again

It has worked every time I have tried it on an SC-810 or an SC-813. Other models, I don't know.
