I have a 1999 volvo v70. The transmission is slipping and the flashing arrow is on and the check engine light is also on. I checked out the site and I have replaced the PND switch and the shifter lock switch and have cleared the codes. I have flushed the tranny, but after driving it about 10 miles it comes back on again and the tranny like goes into slip mode. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks duncan618
I need help. I have a 1999 v70. All this time I have been trying to figure this thing out. I have the flashing arrow and the check engine light is on. I replaced the PNP switch and aligned it 100 times going with all the ideas on the forum and i finally got fed up and went and purchased the tool from Volvo dealership. This doesn't work neither. Still have flashing arrow and check engine light. The codes I am getting are P0758 Shift solenoid circuit + electrical and code P1618 Manufacturer control auxiliary inputs and auxiliary outputs. Does anyone please have any solutions. I love this car and it is in awesome shape to put in the graveyard of cars. Thanks Mike
The flashing arrow is an indicator that you have a tranny problem severe enough to put itself into "limp home" mode, which happens to be 3rd gear. You do NOT have a PNP switch problem! You have a solenoid problem at the transmission and it sounds like it is an electrical problem verses an actual problem with the solenoid.
It is repairable, but not that easy. Unless you find a bad wiring plug.
Klaus If I had a larger garage, I could have more Volvos.
