Both trans and engine oil are the subjects of much debate. First, trans: Volvo says this is a closed system that should never need new trans fluid. Many disagree, including myself. I'm going to change mine in the next week or two at home. I believe there's instructions on www.volvospeed.com. If your fluid is brown and burnt smelling you may want to take the risk of going against Volvo recommendation and change it. That's purely my opionion. Second, if you want the very best for your engine, why not use synthetic? And a good engine flush system would be good to use too. It's one of those things where you drain oil, put in flush, run in Neutral for 5 minutes, drain that, then put in new oil. I haven't done this, but I did switch to synth when I bought my 850. Anyone have any names of products, both for tranny and engine flush? Matthew
