my 1995 20.v 850glt auto with 130.000 has had to have a new rear main oil seal the garage said it could have been caused by excessive crankcase pressure.i have since removed the flame trap as suggested in one of the earlier chats and replaced the hoses however when the engine idles and the dipstick is removed there is a fair bit of smoke this car has a full volvo history and does not use any oil and doesnt suffer a smokey exhaust are these cranckcase emissions normal as i dont want another big bill if this can be rectified it looks to me as though volvo had never cleaned the pcv system considering it was blocked solid cheers trev.
