here we go-the sun roof will tilt but not slide back. volvo rep says "the slide rails are shot-that will be $465 for parts and $145 labor." the lights on the face of the radio are all out except for one, making it very hard to work the controls at night. volvo rep says"we don't fix the lights in radios, we exchange them for refurbished units, figure about $250 to $300 for an exchange." i have to say as soon as i can sell this piece of crap it's gone. a five and a half year old car shouldn't have these kinds of problems yet. i have a vw with 189k miles on it and a toyota with 118k miles. both of which are over 12 years old and never caused me the grief this swedish meatball has in the last three months. heed this warning potential buyers-volvos are nice to look at but be prepared to spend alot of money on suspension upgrades(i.e.shocks,struts,springs,sway bars, tower brace, tires)before it can get out of its own way. the T-5s and R cars are a far cry from what they are supposed to represent. sport sedans, hardly. sloppy handling, spine pounding, steering wheel rattling, suspension bottoming, interior squeeking, gas guzzeling slugs. put more than the driver in the car and that wonderful 2.3L turbo becomes a hamster on a wheel(any day now). turbo lag becomes turbo reunion- when is turbo time?oh, thats right, three passengers plus me driving, we should come on the puffer around tuesday the 12th. but did i say, i just love the wheels!
