their is an o/d relay behind the center of the dash that is axcessable by removeing the glove box. some times it is easy to diag. you can take your fist and give a knock on the glove box door close to the center of the car. if the light goes out it's the relay however the wire for the relay which runs down the center console through the shifter bucket may also be damaged (usually on the trans tail shaft)which can short the relay. other things the solenoid on the trans follow wire from the shifter bucket (1 wire ) their may also be a problem with the trans how ever i've never seen this set the shift light if it is the relay only it is cliped behind the dash do not reuse the clip holder this tends to crack th circut board.
