In Reply to: The Shift-Lock override on my 97 white v70 station wagon automatic transmisoon. posted by mike simon on August 23, 2002 at 00:21:02:

97 s70 ? volvo did not make a 97 s70 (US) and else where as far as i know the reason i am being so pickey is because the biggest differance between the models 850 vs S70 is the interior inc. the shifter assembly their is however an overide in the same location but to axcess it is different s70 is more simple. they both use a micro switch. when the brake pedal is depressed (important the brake light/shiftlock switch must also work for the override to work duel switch in one housing)the micro switch (located on the shifter coverd lower side)will allow activation of the solenoid the function of the micro switch is only used in park so as not to allow activation every time the brake is depressed ie. driving
