I have a 97 850 GLT (automatic)wagon. The other day upon starting the car and shifting into drive it bolted without my toching the accelerator. Scared the pants off of me. Large shoes were not the problem nor was the carpet touching the gas pedal. No check engine lights came on after I got the car stopped. The feeling was similar to how your car feels when it kicks into cruise control. In fact I did notice my cruise control switch was in the ON position but I didn't think it could be activated upon starting the vehicle. I have heard of this problem years ago with Audis but not Volvos. Any thoghts as to what happened? Thanks in advance.
