The same thing happened to me; I had the Radio replaced with a second Volvo radio, but I only had the old code. After three tries the display reads OFF. The solution is to pop the redio out (push in on the two slots on the face of the radio and two tabs will pop out; pull the tabs and the radio will come right out) Call the Volvo Parts Dept and give them the model and serial# on the back of the unit. They should give you the new code. Then, turn your ignition key on one notch and let it sit for between 15 minutes and 2 hours. Somewhere during that time the OFF will change to CODE enter the new code.
