I'm experiencing the same problems and the same frustration with my �93 850. I have visited other discussion boards, but they haven�t helped much, although they provided better ideas than the people at the Volvo dealer did. I took the advise of some people in these discussion boards, I cleaned the idling air valve (it was very dirty, but this wasn�t the cause of the problem). I have replaced the battery because it was holding lower charge than the specifications. The Volvo dealer replaced the CMP sensor because I told them that this was what I read in the discussion boards (I make their day! They charged me for diagnosis, labor and parts�) I took the car to another mechanic that works on Volvos, but this guy also doesn�t have any idea of what is causing the problem. He suggested me that I continue driving the car until it dies completely, so he can pinpoint at the problem. This didn�t sound like a wise advise because I think that if I continue to drive this UNSAFE car I may not be able to live to share how this problem was solved. Do you guys have any other ideas?
