Got Bad Fuel Pump?
“My 850R wagon would not start at the airport after returning from a flight at 11pm (argh!) I suspect the fuel pump or relay. Happened once before but eventually started and ran fine for some time. How do I check both of these items? Are there 2 fuel pumps with this vehicle and I assume you have to drop the tank to replace if it is the pump?”
Bonus! Volvo Facts!
- Volvo takes innovation seriously
Think of a feature that is now taken for granted on the modern automobile and the chances are that Volvo had a hand in developing it. The three-point seat belt was invented by Volvo engineer Nils Bohlin in 1959, though Volvo didn’t patent it as it believes that safety is for everyone.
The company also pioneered the Lambda Sensor catalytic converter in 1976, underscoring its environmental credentials. It introduced the Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) in the 1990s and has since launched a number of collision-prevention devices, such as City Safety, which monitors other road users and brings the car to a halt if an impact looks likely.

this should be deleted. there is no airport fix for a Volvo fuel pump
I have a 2000 Volvo v70 wagon. And the fuel pump and the fuel filter has been changed but it still wont stay started. What else could it be besides the fuel injectors?
