Re: 98 XC brake fit: 302mm rotor/caliper on Persus (16")

The Columba's are the only 16" 850 wheel that can clear 302mm - if you grind the caliper shoulders down a bit. You'd have to remove shoulders and shave a couple of mm off the entire top surface to make the Persus fit. As I'm sure you've seen they're quite tight on the standard 280mm ones.

Re: S60 steering wheel installation in an S70

This means the spline count (the teeth mount) on 98 SV70 is same as 05 s60. Do you know if spline count is same as 95 960? I like that steering wheel a lot. Yup, the 960 uses the same splines as the P80 and P2. A 960/S90/V90 steering wheel is a direct swap into your V70 if that's what you're asking...

Re: 98 XC-Disappointing 0-60 times: what do I do?

Your XC is giving away a lot of pounds to the 850 and drivetrain friction too.

Re: Can I use 01 V70 inner tie rods for a 98 V70 XC?

According to FCP euro's website, no, it will not work.

The 01' volvo v70s inner tie rods are compatible with 01', 02', and 03' V70 and 03' XC70, along with several other years for S60 and S80 models.

Re: 98 XC-Disappointing 0-60 times: what do I do?

The 98 V70 XC we had was a pretty quick car. But compared to the V70 T5 I had in europe it was a real slug. It was quicker off the mark, but once the T5 turbo spooled up it would blow the XC into the weeds. The XC has 193hp v's the T5 Euro spec had 250hp. Add to the difference is the AWD system adds...

Re: 98 XC: 2 cars, same year and trim, different transmission computers-interchangeable?

General rule is...the numbers from original TCM needs to be exactly the same on the replacement TCM,excluding serial numbers. In your case....TCMs have different part numbers and different software numbers. One is from '97 the other one is from '98(according to serial number). I would not try to swa...

Re: 98 XC: 2 cars, same year and trim, different transmission computers-interchangeable?

TCM from the 1st picture doesn't match the ECU...or...ECU doesn't match TCM. How would you "match" the ECU and TCM? There's no guarantee that all parts are from the same year. My T5 had parts made late 1994, all the way to '96. OP doesn't need to worry what ECU is in the car. The issue is...
