Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I suggest a Amazon next day delivery of a new makeup mirror before you return that one. Could avoid more than 7 years bad luck.

Re: 850 subframe drop and suspension rebuild

I was under the impression #53 and #50 are the same, but #48 differs. Being wrong here is definitely a good thing, though, as it's one less thing to consider. I assume you mean #43 and #50? (Not #53 and #50) Grab all of the fasteners for the big mid-brace. All of the bolts at the front (the rear SF...

Re: Groaning/Whine from front right side of engine

Another possible source of the groaning sound can be the oil thermostat near the oil filter. It makes a strange moaning/whistling noise when the engine oil is cold and goes away when the oil is fully warmed up.

I would refer to this thread from 2012, with the description by Ozark Lee

Re: 850 starts burning lots of oil from nowhere?

i had an oil level issue with a Volvo V70Xc (98) I had bought a few years ago. Those who have owned these cars for a while know that some of the dipsticks have a habit of the pull breaking of or snapping. I never seemed to be able to get the oil level right. I tried measuring the oil in and back out...

Re: My head is spinning - HELP please!1998 S70 replacement rotors/pads

GLT is a trim level in the UK/Europe. In the US it refers to the low pressure turbo versions of the 850s & C/S/V70s. Just a correction. "GLT" was only an LPT version in the US for the 850's in '97. It was a trim level for the '93-'96 models. These guys have you covered with recommenda...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

For some odd reason I always thought the C70 skins weren't compatible. Huh. They aren’t. :D The headrest holes are spaced differently The mount on the bottom of the seat back skin is a bayonet type, vs hog rings on the S/V70 Accessory handles slightly different Extra handle for the tip forward func...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Alistair...the headrests are different too. I had to punch new holes in the leather to refit my S70 headrests through the C70 leather. Wasn’t hard to do with a sharp knife, just cut an X where you feel the hole in the leather for the headrest post My daughter loves the new bolster , and it’s really ...

Re: How to restore the drip moulding (and in praise of plastidip)

abscate wrote: 07 Feb 2021, 06:14 Yeeks, $400 for a roof rack.

I made mine from demo lumber I charged $40 to haul away...used it to haul the last kid to Bryn Mawr and back a few years ago.
I would let my kid ride inside, but I'm sure you had good reasons.
