I switched from conventional to full synthetic on my 04 S60 for 3 years now and haven’t had any issues.

Just my 0.00002c but I really don't like those worm clamps on the PCV. When I did my PCV, I put a worm clamp - and it was actually the Volvo kind which is less prone to loosen by itself, and when I drove the car the worm clamp got slack and the PCV hose popped off.
