Re: Full loss of power: Crank but no start | Thoughts Needed

You get to the root cause by asking questions. Why does that not apply to this case?

Q: Car won't start, why?
A: Oxygen, Fuel, Spark.

Connecting an known to an unknown. The basis of root cause analysis.

Re: WIP: Heads up display for P80

Have you thought about throwing an
Arduino or maybe a Raspberry Pi at it?

You can also find a speed signal at the
back of the radio, if that helps. It gives
the HU speed for Auto Volume Control.
Black/Yellow, IIRC.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

yanga001 wrote: 28 Jun 2021, 11:24 Got an alignment, crashed into a parked car.........

Next big targets are the headliner, ac clutch shimming, and a trailer hitch.
The headliner and ac shim should be ok, but you don’t want to crash into a trailer hitch

Re: Brake Fluid Loss Thread - 1998 V70 Endless fun

If the brake master cylinder leaks into the booster you don't see it you only smell it. It takes a long time to fill up the booster before you will see anything!

Hopefully it is a flexi-hose of some sort that is accessible.

Re: Accessory 30 supply line going to zero under load

The important thing is you found it! Well done!

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Again, well done. Starters are or can be a devil to get aligned and fitted. The ones I have removed recently were from 99/00 years and they had 2 x 15mm bolts on the motor and a 12 or 13mm on the rear bracket. I have found different ones though fitted on other cars over the years which is weird. The...

Re: Fuel Pump Relay 9434225 Examinations 1998 v70 non turbo

Al, thank you so much for demystifying all that stuff on the circuit board! Do you think in the early stage of failure, when the relay contacts are not solidly closed (but still delivering adequate power to the pump for the car to run) that the sort of random square wave output from the relay could...
