Re: Turbo leaking.
Awesome, thank you!! Theres a place is Oshkosh, WI that does a pretty darn good job rebuilding hydraulic lines and stuff. Got a list of tools I need for the job? We have a second car and I can walk to work if need be, so I can slowly pick at this job throughout the week. How to rebuild them: https:...

Re: What and how to clean in the mean time?
Be careful when working on the back of the car. AWD parts for many things back there and now NA. The filter is mounted to a bracket above the rear axle on the passenger (RHS) of center. The 98 is different to the 99-00 emissions system. Even the screw for the clamp is no longer available and if orig...

You can tell by looking at where the leak starts, is it where the hose(s) plug into the radiator (o-rings), or where the rubber meets the metal...

Re: 1998 V70R brake work , What and how to clean in the mean time?
Somewhere in a box in a 10' x 10' storage building I have a pair of used OE lines I replaced on a 98 V70 XC. I was told that they were leaking so replaced them to find the leak continued. The dealer had 3 goes at fixing it, and said that was the only way to fix it. What I found is that it was not th...

Re: 1998 V70R brake work , What and how to clean in the mean time?
Part is not unique to 'R' models. The caliper bracket is larger as is the disc, but the hub mounting point is the same as other P80 models.

Re: Turbo leaking.
Replace that air filter too. Could be restricted which will cause a bit of oil seeping from turbo internally.

Thanks for the info. I have Bosch MAF, so I may try swapping it. Agree on $500.
