Wanted to loop back in case anyone else has this issue. The plastic handles come off by release. There’s a notch that needs to be lifted up - I used a thin, flathead screwdriver - and pulled off. Once they were both off, the panel popped up then off as seems standard. The belt itself has a metal but...
