Re: Good Idea, Bad Idea
Beth My strong impression is that’s a loved, well cared for Volvo based on appearance. At 2K, that’s a screaming deal, at 2500 it’s a good deal, and her 3K ask is probably attainable if everything’s in order. When you look at it, look for a dry engine both on top and underneath, these engines really...

Re: Good Idea, Bad Idea
On the parts issue, without getting into specifics M V capital S is all about sorting out where we can cut corners and where we can’t so I will just say all that knowledge is resident here, and we can guide you as you find you need parts replacing. You don’t need to go strict OEM but our resident fe...

Re: Good Idea, Bad Idea
For most (all?) of replaceable parts there's a known OE substitute, like Sachs for struts, Aisin for water pump, ATE for brake pads, etc.
Owning Toyota now and looking at Toyota parts prices, Volvo parts are not more expensive than Toyota's. May be even cheaper.

Re: Good Idea, Bad Idea
Tough break, but the good ones go quickly. Keep your eyes open in the high rent suburbs for second car Volvo’s on private sales.

Re: ...try, try again.
Hi Kids, me again! Thoughts on this one? Looks clean... interesting write up too. They really listened to Google about "How to sell a car online." Thank you in advance. Beth https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/d/atlanta-take-this-2001-volvo-v70-t5/7141183646.html Just buy it.

Re: ...try, try again.
Respectfully, I would resist the temptation & wait for a 2003-2007 with slightly less miles. The price isn’t bad. Those are the nice comfy front “sport” seats, which are very desirable, only bested by the R seats. But black interior is going to be very hot as far south as you are. Edit: not a ba...

Re: ...try, try again.
I wonder why would someone replace the whole front end just before selling ? That could be either a good thing or a deal breaker, depending which brands they used: if it's the good ones, may meant they are the kind of people to spend on their cars so a good thing. Don't forget the throttle body and ...

Re: ...try, try again.
If the transmission was taken care of, it's a keeper.
2001 V70 T5's are a lot of fun to drive but a car that old with that many miles means you better like fixing all the "little" crap.
$3K is about right.

Re: ...try, try again.
Mine is same year, similar mileage but not as sharp. Buy it and enjoy it. All cars need some work.
