Re: FDPP #2
Ok, so the parts needed are 2001 S60 (or any P2 equivalent) front right strut assembly and light switch module.I attempted to try the resoldering fix, but the parts are too small for me to see and I didn't feel comfortable trying it.
volvolugnut has the strut.
Anybody have an LSM?

Re: FDPP #2
Bare strut only available with spring cushion. Installation may need other parts that I do not have. Spring? Soft top cushion, boot, bearing plate, hardware needed?

Re: FDPP #2
You would need a good spring compressor. Not a cheap one - they are dangerous. Is the spring broken? It is hard to tell what else you need until it is removed. Do you have tools or someone to do this work?

If measurement is kept before and after replacement, alignment may not be needed. Anyone in OHIO that can help with spring compressor? Let's see what help pops up here. Anyone...

Re: FDPP #2
Most auto stores will rent out spring compressors for reasonably cheap. They are pretty easy to use, but take safety precautions. Point away from you and others, wear safety glasses, and work slowly. Then there's the Harbor Freight route, I've had mine for over 4 years and they've been great. I make...

Re: FDPP #2
Check the boot condition. Torn? Wet with shock oil? Push the boot up and see if you can see the yellow bump stop. Is the bump stop crumbling? If you can get both front wheels off the ground, check if the pivot bearing plate (at the top with the three small bolts) feels rough as you move the wheel si...

Re: FDPP #2
You should at least be able to see the spring seat just by looking at it with the wheel off.

Re: FDPP
The strut comes off the car, the spring gets compressed, old parts removed, new parts on.
