Re: Cancer/illnesses, and caregiver, support thread

XeMODex has an ETM diagnostic flow chart here: https://xemodex.com/us/diagnostic-flow-charts/

I have used it to determine mine was bad.

Re: FDPP #2

You don't have to worry about breaking down with that hose disconnected, it's simply an air duct. If anything, it will improve performance until you fix the air box thermostat.

Re: FDPP #2

Half a tank is plenty for the fuel pump to suck up.

I would recommend reading codes with VIDA and running an ETM test. It's possible that it's failing, but you'll want to check for any other issues before jumping to the ETM (vacuum leaks, MAF, etc.)

Re: FDPP #2

Ah I get what you're saying. I believe you'd need just about a full tank for it to splash out of the o-ring around the sending unit.

Re: FDPP #2

If your car ran fine before filling with the Sunoco gasoline, then...

- Get a proper container and jump the fuel pump to pump fuel out.
- Inspect the container for any water, which will settle at the bottom.
- Don't run the pump dry, once you see bubbles, stop.

Re: FDPP #2

It sounds like the ETM may be a problem. You may want to start with cn90's recommendation of draining the gas, or even getting the fuel level as low as possible and filling it with some good quality fuel.

Re: FDPP #2

@gnalan, I went to the junk yard today and got the part you requested. I got these parts from a 2007 S60 3.2L car: 1- Battery Top Bracket (black) + one bolt. Could not find the other bolt but you can easily find it at hardware store. Make sure you have the correct thread pitch (I think it is M8 x 1....

Re: Cancer/illnesses, and caregiver, support thread

I can relate to some of what you are going through. Caregiving is very hard, especially for someone you love. I suggest you try to do some simple things together she will enjoy. Perhaps a favorite meal or music. I keep seeing your new posts wit new vehicle problems, but most of them I don't have inf...

Re: Engine wiring harness separate, or combined with the rest of the wiring?

You can disconnect the Engine bay harness from the rest of the car. Remove the cowl under the Windshield. The connectors are at the left end. The Split Loom Wire Conduit covering the wires can be replaced. Cut the tape on the old and remove. Cut new to length and tape on. It is normal for the Condui...

Re: Engine wiring harness separate, or combined with the rest of the wiring?

In my experience, you need to get wire loom and tape with high temperature rating - 300 F is best. Super 88 3M tape is good.
