Re: Wastegate Readjustment 05 s60R
disconnect the actuator rod from the wastegate arm, pull the rod out and place it on top of the wastegate pivot with the wastegate fully closed, pull it far enough that a gap shows at the far side, away from the vacuum motor. Only a small gap is needed, its to provide some pre-tension and prevent th...

Re: ‘07 V70 2.5T 2nd hand S80 rims don’t fit?
Okay. Problem solved. So as it turns out these rims fit just fine, our friends at a national tire distributor just weren’t trying that hard. They thought the center hole was the wrong size, but after checking around and my son just putting a tire on himself and taking a drive, he took it back to th...

Re: Interesting Cold Start Idle Behavior
wrong engine oil can and will make the VVT solenoid sluggish to react.
Also low oil level, the solenoid runs off oil pressure .

Re: 2005 V50 2.4i
nah, don't need a lift to do any of that. The mobile mechanic isn't gonna show up with a lift.
I wouldn't even consider the timing belt until simple trouble shooting eliminates the codes that point to the coils.
Keep it simple, be methodical.

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 AWD - mechanic recommended tie rod replacement, do you agree?
its already aligned, its not as if you need to align in every time to inflate the tires. If theres no slop why change a perfectly functional part. I would wait until the ball joints or drop links need swapping out, otherwise you're paying for repeat work that isn't necessary. Maybe loosen it now and...

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 AWD - mechanic recommended tie rod replacement, do you agree?
If theres play in the wheels you will be able to see where it is, mostly its the little ball joint on the tie rod end. Or it could be the main ball joint, it will be visible when someone shakes/twists the tire side to side. It can also be the inner joint of the tie rod, watch the tie rod as the whee...

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 AWD - mechanic recommended tie rod replacement, do you agree?
Hey, maybe the inner tie rod can be removed without using the counterhold with the method in this article that uses a locking plier: https://www.volvohowto.com/how-to-replace-inner-and-outer-tie-rod-on-volvo-850-s70-v70-c70/amp/ its better to watch some videos where they do the job on old rusted pa...

Re: Where would you start if you fixed it? 2003 XC70 Wiring From Previous Owner, Epic Fault Codes
I'd say the fix the owner employed was worse than the problem. It caused a cascade of further problems.
So at the core of the problem you might just find a simple mistake.

Re: 2004 XC70 no start - faulty fuel pump and/or electrical connections?
We do have a vida forum, those guys are the experts.
I bought vida on a thumb drive that has its own operating system, no need to fiddle around , once its set up you just plug it in and boot up.
