hammer and chisel works for me, installed the same way, I never put them in the freezer, just chisel around the ball joint tappy tap tap. ebay chinese junk part might only last 6 months.. Grab the heater hoses at the firewall, if they are hot when engine is up to temp its not the thermostat, its the plenum door actuators in the dash.
