Re: Re-programming key fob
There's two things needed to get an engine to run. Fuel and spark. You're not getting gas.. If you were getting gas, and you know for sure you're getting spark, an explosion would happen in the cylinder. Either you're not pumping fuel or the gas you have in the tank is so stale it just won't combust...

Re: Massive Oil Leak
I would go ahead and pull that engine mount back off, and retrace your steps back toward to the far exhaust cam seal, then play with the reluctor wheel. Just for fun
from the maintenance you listed, I don't see what else could make the described noise.

Re: Prop Shaft Removal & CV Joint Replacement Writeup - 2006 S60 AWD
It's 50 ˚F here today! The long bolt with red loctite residue is a factory drive shaft bolt - those go in the flange from the front. On the short bolt that you can use from the back of the flange for driveshaft removal, I think its 12 mm long, you can see the threads are mashed in from using it to d...

Re: 2006 Volvo S60 AWD - turbo replacement
That Clamp is important, it relieves stress on the cooling and oil lines and stops them from vibrating loose. Secret method- install the oil drain tube with gasket loosely and then guide the end into the block. Firm everything up slowly , including the clamp , keeping everything in place. A long bal...

Sporadic Position Light Warning Solution
This is the second s60 I had where the position light warning would go off and on. The first, I fixed by replacing the light bracket with a replacement from the junk yard. Then my T5 started experiencing this problem, so I feel it's probably a common issue. The solution was to bend the ground tabs o...

Re: Save my baby
Holy Cow, you guys are great! Maybe I have some hope after all. I sure don't have any disposable cash like $1,100 right now. abscate, you are correct in that this mechanic does have one of those cameras (Borescope) you spoke of. This mechanic I have only used in emergencies in the past as his labor...

Re: V70 2.4T - Timing Belt Service Interval - how far can I push it?
What exactly do you mean by "engine flush"? Google "engine flushing". You will get tons of info, both for and against flushing. But if I wasn't clear enough, the crud on the top of your oil cap indicates pretty dirty internals possibly due to high mileage, little service and/or ...

Re: Lots of Signal too low codes after head swap
I just installed a remanufactured head from Odessa Cylinder Heads in Clearwater, FL. I got this head since I had a burnt valve, the car has 240k on it so I thought it was best to go with a complete reman head. The only code I had was the misfire on #3 before replacing the head. But after installing...

Re: 14T turbo on a 2001 v70xc?
After 15 minutes of driving, half in town and half on a 55mph road, the oil in the intake manifold seems to have burned off and the car feels great. It easily makes 1350 hPa boost (my iCarSoft only measures in hPa, I gather this is roughly 5 psi above atmospheric). Once it spiked up to 1400 hPa (6 p...
