Re: volvo s60 t6 2012 idling bounce

If the car goes to normal when opening the oil filler or dipstick, it sounds like a crankcase over pressure problem. The PCV diaphragm is an issue on the newer Volvos with the integrated oil filter and PCV catch tank. I'm not sure if yours is fitted with this or not. I would suggest the PCV system i...

Re: Alternator Replaced (Red Triangle + Battery Light) 2005 S60 2.5T

Also,

For used parts, I trust LKQonline bc they tag every part with VIN and mileage. You should be able to find a unit with 80K miles on their website for $85. Genuine Volvo.

A good used Volvo alternator is better than a brand-new Chinese unit.

PS: the aftermarket is full of Chinese stuffs...

Re: Are P2 V70s really that expensive to maintain?

I can report on owning a 2001 V70 T5 with the high pressure turbo. It is fun to drive, room to haul lots of stuff, fast, comfortable, gets about 26 MPG at 70 MPH and 21 MPG around town. If you have tools and basic mechanic skills, with help from this web site you can do many repairs yourself. This g...

Re: Code p302

Assuming it’s misfiring on cylinder number 2…….
Swap the coil with cylinder number 1 and swap the spark plug with cylinder number 3. Clear the codes and then see what new code you get (P0301 or P0303)

Did you use Volvo/Bosch coils or another brand?
What plugs are you running?

Re: Friendly reminder to check your drains for clogs

Ditto on that block being a bad idea. If you religiously stay out from under, ok in an emergency ,, but we old guts don’t ever use them…that’s why we are old. Cribbing 4x4 is much safer. Lumber in compression with out point loads ( like jack saddles :8 ) is safer, jack stands best, with a wheel unde...

Re: Recurring P0101

No, its almost always a tiny PCV hose under the intake manifold that needs to be replaced. The PCV job is the most intense DIY so you'd want to look into that, and to do the whole system is about $400 for parts and another $450 for labor for an indie last I checked.

Re: Brake System Svce Required + Cruise Control Gone '07 v70

For lots of people it is brake pedal position sensor. Dont cheap out and get ATE brand. But best would be to check with Vida/dice cor codes. But my educated guess would be that sensor.
