Re: Advised right outer tie rod is loose; replace only that or all steering wear components?

Worth doing both as you need a toe in setting after a tie rod end, which costs more than the end!

If the boots and clips are in good shape leave them alone

Re: Advised right outer tie rod is loose; replace only that or all steering wear components?

Strange as we replaced just the RH outer about 18 months ago as well. We did not touch the left and so far so good. 2006 XC70. For the cost/labor on the part and that you have to have an alignment done after it, I would recommend doing both. We only did the one as my son was dealing with his car at ...

Re: 2006 V70: Replace radiator as preventative measure?

Dear Volvo Lovers, I have a 2006 V70 with 215k km that I adore and wish to keep in service as long as possible. While there are no leaks or evidence of weeping on the radiator or at junctions with coolant hoses, the system is all original. Would you suggest that it is time to replace the radiator a...

Re: 2006 V70: Replace radiator as preventative measure?

We have very few internal cooler failures ruining either engines or transmissions on these cars. I would take that failure off my worry list.

Re: 2006 V70: Replace radiator as preventative measure?

Changing old cooling hoses proactively yes, radiator no. Plastics on expansion tank can get brittle too and easy to replace.

About to do all the cooling hoses on my 08 C70 with 120k miles.

Re: 2006 V70: Replace radiator as preventative measure?

They key thing is... - If you drive around town and your coolant level sensor is workig, then no need to worry bc in the rare event that the radiator leaks, the level sensor will warn you in the dash. - My experiecne with a different Volvo (1998 S70/V70), the radiator cracks near the top hose, hair...

Re: 2006 V70: Replace radiator as preventative measure?

I did just that: a new Volvo radiator that I've luckily got with 1/3 discount. Bypassing the cooler is not a good idea in cold climate. I appreciate the information--thanks vtl. Here in Canada the Volvo radiator lists at $670... one-third of that I could stomach. Just under $300: https://www.tascap...
