Re: Vida CEM swapping

No, from MY 2005 the cem type changed and the first cpus have a flash with 512kb, look closely to the cpu. The early serials all have 512kb, all cems with a serial starting with 5 or above have 320kb flash, the swap was done shortly before 5 M30835F Flash starts at F80000 to FFFFFF 512kb total M3085...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

Bought 719 locally. Awesome! Here it is $30 + $10 core fee (CDN) at the pick 'n pull for one. Here is my experimental branch if you want to take a look https://github.com/cmolson/volvo-cem-cracker/tree/faster-attempt It has all the changes I've made so far, not ideal for a pull request I don't thin...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

Regarding 719/720 P1 CEMs. I've got my new awesome 400 MHz analyzer and can attest that - Teensy is very fast! CAN-L pin poll cycle is less than 40 ns, and that includes IO pin write for debug purpose! - the cracker code does nothing wrong - CAN bus has no unexpected glitches - it is only a matter o...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

It will work slower than sirloin's code, because I don't want to fork cracking routines for different CEMs and have to support them ever since. Anyways, for most of people, cracking their CEM is a one time in life effort. Sirlion's faster code cracks my bench CEM-L as long as PERCENT_DIFF_THRESHOLD...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

Per-CEM tunables not gonna work: who will tune them? Tune-able Per-Hardware part number. That way if a change is made to accommodate B it will not stop working for A. I got the code changed you can download the branch here . If it is decided this is the way to go I'll issue a pull request. This way...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

The worst case would be a hit with pin 00 99 99 99 99, which would take almost 63 hours at your speed. Do it in hexadecimal. 256^3 / 445 / 60^2 = 10.47 hours max. Six times faster. In hexadecimal you will find a PIN in the range of 00 00 00 00 00 to 00 00 FF FF FF. If you want a BCD PIN you can run...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

How do you get ~860 pin/sec? I am getting stable 440 pins/sec using VTL's the most recent build. There are "fast" and "slow" CEMs. You have a "slow" one. I could also not compile VTL's seed-gen.c utility. I was trying to compile with devc++ and with VScode as well. It ...

The main point was I needed something to fight my boring job a few years ago, to do something fun and brain-involved.
