Re: Power steering pump leak?
The usual leaks are the pipe and their crimps or the header tank seams which get sweaty over the years. Certainly looks like the pipe to the left in the picture is not sealing correctly. I would clean all the oil off and then see what comes back. I had to replace my header tank to pump hose as it wa...

Re: Power steering pump leak?
The worm gear hose clamp in the lower left of that picture is the high quality original Norma brand with the rolled outer edges to prevent cutting into the hose. Keep that, and if you want stupidly high quality, get Norma Torro or ABA rolled edge worm gear hose clamps for every one that you replace....

Re: Banjo bolt delete?
I have 24 Nm in my notes for both banjos. I looked in Alldata to confirm but could not find it. Someone with VIDA running can confirm Use new copper crush washers and clean all the surfaces carefully to get a good seal. If you replace the banjo bolt, make sure replacement is identical in depth to or...

Re: Fuel / Gas in oil?
I THINK a single event of excess gas in the oil would evaporate when the engine is warm. An ongoing problem, like a leaky injector would be expected to maintain excess fuel in the oil. Your fuel mileage sounds a bit low to me, but I have no experience with your model. Expect others to comment here. ...

Re: Fuel / Gas in oil?
Volvo manual says that when you do mostly city driving(stop & go),short distances under 10-15 miles and when engine, most of the time in city driving,is idling....oil change interval is cut to 6 months instead of 12 months. When you mostly drive short distances in city...this is what you could ex...

Re: Fuel / Gas in oil?
Monitor your gas mileage once you start using it and let us know. Short runs means the car tends to run richer until warm especially if idling so may lead to more fuel washing down into the oil pan. Only other thing would be bad coolant temp sensor which could make the engine run rich or bad O2 sens...

Re: Another alarm issue thread
The reason the door locks stop working is because they have a thermo-resistor built into each door lock. It is there more for cold climates where locks can freeze. Basically if the motor works too hard then it shuts them down to prevent damage to the lock and motor and the wiring harness. Problem is...

Re: P80 door actuator motor
I believe they do.They are fitted on a spline. If they don't come off the new end cap with the resistor and brushes would not be of any use. I have not looked on Ebay. In one of my threads I have listed Alibaba source I have bought from. They will not get here until some-time mid-May. Usually a good...

Re: Another alarm issue thread
This is a good place to learn more about how your keyless entry and alarm systems work: https://volvo.custhelp.com/app/manuals/OwnersManual/om_id/899 The noise you hear is the keyless system not letting the driver's door remain locked if it senses a key in the ignition. One long light flash for arm....

Re: P80 door actuator motor
Well today the first package arrived with the end plates that have the front bearings, motor contacts and the little thermo-resistor tile. I will have to try fitting one of these to a motor at some point and then try and check they work. I have 2 used motors kicking around so I might take those apar...
