Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

On the P2 there should be a +ve and -ve connector under the hood for jump starting the car. I keep meaning to check these out for trickle charging as otherwise it means jamming the cable in the rear door seal or feeding a cable through a window which again is not ideal. If you look at the engine ba...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

XC90 but a P2 nonetheless. Finally had the car long enough to pull the front floormats and inspect the aftermath of sunroof drain issue the previous owner let go. Had to run a heater on the foam overnight to thaw and dry. Forgot to snap an after picture...a coat of corroseal did a nice job sealing u...

Re: PCV Write-up for 1999+ Volvo 5-cylinder 31325709

I can take as much time as I want on this car. Probably going to pull the engine/trans. Any suggestions on what else to take care of while it's out would be appreciated. Someone mentioned knock sensors. Being 23 years old anything made of rubber is worth replacing. Recently did orings on the oil pa...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

A mate arrived in his S60 T5 and I turned off an SRS light that he had activated when he removed his CCM to repair the thermistor, I then turned off his DRLs with Vida and cleared a few codes that had been caused by an aftermarket radio which has now been resigned to the bin and the original radio ...

Re: Cancer/illnesses, and caregiver, support thread

Thoughts are with you Nick. Hope your Mom and Dad are back home soon. Agree with you on spending time with your friend. Lost my Dad to stomach cancer last week. He was diagnosed in August with stage 4. They tried some experimental chemo in the Fall that nearly killed him, he recovered some in Dec/Ja...

Re: Tire talk! My Conti's are shot at 26k miles

Reviving this old thread. My C70 came with Conti ExtremeContact DWS06. Still about 5/32 left but decided to throw them on the new to me wheels. I wonder if belts are busted internally as I have a tug at the wheel occasionally, strange as it sometimes it goes away. So…came across these Continental Su...

Re: 2006 V70: Replace radiator as preventative measure?

Changing old cooling hoses proactively yes, radiator no. Plastics on expansion tank can get brittle too and easy to replace.

About to do all the cooling hoses on my 08 C70 with 120k miles.

Re: i need opinions on your ownership experience

I really like the P2 Volvos, have three in the family fleet. No electrical issues other than a MAF sensor and crank/cam sensor here and there. They do need suspension components replaced around 150k miles and maybe CV shafts, but if you go with decent aftermarket they are reasonable and easy DIY wit...
