Re: 06' V70 Front End Damage Repair
I would highly doubt running the car that long caused any damage. Any overheat codes or warnings on the dash? Recently had a water pump go on 02 S60 and ran for a couple short periods too. I think that is very fixable, especially if you can find a cheap donor car. Once you get the hood off you can s...

Re: Fuel Pump Recall announced
2004 XC70. I first noticed gas smell in interior about two weeks ago. Confirmed a slow, low volume leak from the cap of the fuel pump. See attached photo. No fuel on any other portion of the pump or elsewhere. Original owner. Car purchased and registered continuously in Massachusetts. Never receive...

Re: Fuel Pump Recall announced
Read my post above - you should be covered if you push it. I dont think they want the liability of your car burning up. ..... Volvo replaced my 02 S60 fuel pump a couple years ago. Had well over 150k miles and multiple owners. No charge. I’m in Iowa so not part of the original recall. Had to call V...

Re: Fuel Pump Recall announced
If I recall correctly I did take it in, with backseat removed so dealer had a clear view of the pump and could not charge me a diagnostic fee. Thanks. It's fairly easy if I drive the car to the dealer. I'm hesitating due to the perhaps wiser plan of towing both ways if they don't cover it. Coincide...

Re: 2008 c30 coolant loss
If it is the tank you should be able to see it. I just sold a 2008 C70 and based on risk of catastrophic octopus hose failure and overheating/engine failure I changed all the hoses and thermostat plus the housing. Worth considering if planning to keep the car, not a bad DIY job. If the octopus hose ...

Re: The repo man cometh
I saw that article too. I’m fortunate to be content with vehicles ranging from 40k to 200k miles. My wife give me a hard time occasionally about extra vehicles but it eases the pain of any downtime significantly. If you are the type that needs a new vehicle with little equity it is a painful time. F...

Re: Opinions wanted: Do I go through with this repair?
To me spending that much all hinges on the condition of the car, if pristine definitely—if trashed definitely not. The shocks and struts are definite DIY, done four Volvos. When it comes to VVT and cam seals I do farm that out…certain I could but I have a reasonably priced Indy shop in town. With co...

Re: 2008 XC90 4.4 V8 Sport
Others may chime in but I always start loading the parts cannon with the cheapest stuff first. Based on the comment I’d drain and fill the transmission fluid with the proper stuff and see if there is improvement.
