Re: MVS approaching 24th birthday
I just wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to Matthew and everyone in the Matthews Volvo community. Since joining back in January, I came here hoping to find like-minded people who shared my passion, and I can honestly say the warmth, kindness, and genuine support I’ve received h...

Re: MVS approaching 24th birthday
Checking my profile, I created an account 13 years ago, so that was the first time I had something worth saying to the group. Before that I silently read and learned from the masters. There's a lot of people making bogus YouTube videos that gloss over the tough steps, but byte for byte, your best ed...

Re: Flush or drain and fill? - 170k miles, never changed the transmission fluid
…..Probably could do a cooler return flush without a problem but up to you if you want to exchange it all. I believe the 2016 xc60 has the 8-speed trans which means there is no external cooler or associated hoses. The “cooler” is a small, finned gizmo on the front side of the trans not much larger ...

Re: Wtb Uhaul car dolly, <1200, northeast.
Couple in Rome and Syracuse NY. Not a bad drive in summer, but winter can throw a spanner into the works.
If i have to , thats what I will do.
Lots of dollies on FMB but most are junky crap or abused - the UHaul ones are galvanized and hold value for a reason.

Re: Infamous ignition tumbler problem, now "Start Prevented Try Again"
Is it possible for the immobilizer chip for ignition to fail, and the lock/unlock still work? These are two separate circuits. Immobilizer chip is MegaMos Crypto ID48, the remote fob is I forgot what. ID48 rarely fails, but fails. The blank chip itself was like $2 last time I looked, but Volvo upch...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
As far as any potential thief knows, you locked the door and the car has fully active steering lock system that came with it new.

Re: Infamous ignition tumbler problem, now "Start Prevented Try Again"
VTL I’ve been thinking about your reply on the ’What did you do’ P2 thread. I wonder if a good solution is to glue the good key near the immobilizer and simply buy two valet keys and skip the $200+ each of programming. Could even maybe find a local to cut the key and keep the tumblers in place and ...

Re: Rearview door mirror glass maintenance question - P2
However, this glass is notorious for falling off as the glue slowly loses adhesiveness. So if the glass is partially detached, then remove it, clean it and reglue it and let it cure for 24h. I use "Shoegoo" ($6 at Ace Hardware) as the glue bc this stuff is used to glue the sole of the shoe...
