Re: Traveler brand oil from Tractor Store.
The real geekfest is over on bobistheoilguy - but fair warning, don't go too far down that rabbit hole if you are easily influenced by pseudo-science psychobabble. The best information I've seen published recently is by a petrochemical engineer in Hot Rod. Oh I'm a regular over there. :-) But mostl...

Re: Axle is stuck:(
Here’s the video/sound recording of my attempt to get car into park. IMG_0247.mov Appreciate your thoughts on what might be causing this noise. Thanks in advance! Now, to clean up the mess under the transmission! Just to make sure the obvious is asked... You brought the axles rotation to a complete...

Re: We're keeping our cars on the road longer
After a few seconds of deep thought, I think I have the answer for light trucks being lower average age. Many trucks are purchased for business use and they replace sooner after lots of miles.

Re: Bumper and trim restore? What do I use?
Hey there I've tried a lot of those plastic restore products before I got fed up because they just don't last. Frustrated from failed attempts I painted them with flat black rust paint. Truly the best results so far and super easy to pop out the bumper inserts and give a quick spray hang by one of t...

Re: 2004 V70 2.4 Sudden pull to right after hitting bumps
Here's how I've done mine. See that short little plumbing pipe with a cap on it? Cheap from the hardware store. Soft iron so it doesn't damage anything. Make sure you don't pinch the rubber boot. Tap it home. DON'T use the bolts to pull it in.

Re: Volvo's smallest EV is here... and it's inexpensive?
Y'know, the humble Bolt was about $28,000, this isn't much more than that. And the Bolt has been cancelled. I drove a Fiat 500e the other night, just around the block. It was pristine, 20k miles, like new. They're only reported to be good for 85-95 miles, but this guy barely touches the pedal and u...

Re: Volvo's smallest EV is here... and it's inexpensive?
Heavier vehicles always take more energy to accelerate. (Force equals Mass X Acceleration) (Energy eguals force X time) Higher acceleration will always use more energy, either fuel or electricity. I expect most electric vehicles will use less total energy from the power plant with equal acceleration...

Re: When did you last have paid service for your Volvo
Those cutoff wheels also work well to hack off seized swaybar linkages that break two torx wrenches. Nuts come off easier when cut in half! 👍 I remember chiseling this stuff off in 20 minute sessions with a hammer, hitting your fingers every now and then. Now it’s 30 seconds of Dremel ….fiberglass ...
