Re: Preventing Air Bag Light coming on (V70- 2004)
I wait about 10 minutes which I believe is the time listed in the VIDA/DICE factory repair procedures.

Re: Positive 2001-2007 DIM repair tale
I fixed both DIMs from my 2004 Volvos and both had problems with the smaller integrated circuits and a transistor. This video is good for the do-it-yourself'ers:

Re: Have I brainwashed my friends to buy P2 Volvos?
Good story line! The lack of P2 rust has been a big selling point for me. I have two friends, three kids, and a wife with Volvos that use my tools, VIDA/DICE, knowledge, and repair work to keep rolling. Unfortunately, I need to sell two Volvos to make up for the new-to-me V70R.

Re: Have you replaced TPMS sensors on their P2 Volvo?
I have purchased 4 sets of 4 TPMS sensors on EBay for about $25 each and they work great without any programming: https://www.ebay.com/itm/363365292770 These sensors are on the snow tires and the summer tires for all the 2007 Volvos in my collection. I take the sensors to the tire shop when buying n...

Re: I found this turbo vacuum line disconnected
The port for the hose that popped off doesn't have a barb or other retaining feature. It appears that the only way it is retained is with friction and the partial vacuum from the engine and turbo intake through the venturi (diameter reduction) on the intake pipe. A little spring clamp would probably...

Re: ECM-261A
You have a bunch of communication issues! I would recommend running a smoke test on the intake manifold to find any leaks. There are YouTube videos with instructions for building a smoke generator with a soldering iron, glass jar, old sock, and baby oil. The smoke test saves a ton of guesswork and i...

Re: ECM-261A
I refurbished a dead DEM in the XC70 and it just needed fresh fluid, new filter, and the new design metal cap. I don't remember the codes. The original stamped cap was still holding the very dirty/plugged filter in. The rear differential and bevel gear use the same gear oil so it is worth doing both...

Re: Helppppppppp !!!!!!---Totally Stumped on Engine Misfire
The coils don't like old spark plugs because the energy necessary to bridge the gap increases as the spark plugs wear and the gap gets bigger. At minimum check the spark plug gaps. Is your car turbo or non-turbo? The non-turbo factory Beru plugs start to deteriorate a lot at 30,000 miles. They can b...

Re: ECM-261A
"was hoping the EVAP stuff would solve the fuel odour in front cabin too but no luck there." Check for fuel leaks from the upper o-rings on the fuel injectors. You should be able to see any fuel wetness after removing the small black cover with the two T30 fasteners. Also check for a leak ...

Re: Rusted connection on exhaust.
I drilled out the rusted and broken studs on the exhaust flange and replaced them with stainless steel bolts, washers, and nuts from a hardware store. Tried to find a picture without any luck. Getting the drill bit to bite and stay centered is tricky. My angle grinder does a good job getting a flat ...
