Re: Coolant Smell inside cabin.

Yes I understand you have a different car and I did mention that if there are no similarities you can ignore my suggestion. But if there are, it's worth checking out, sometimes hoses aren't on tight, sometimes plastics crack. Additionally if this permeable insulation is there, press on it hard and s...

Re: Vida - What am I missing?

Because from my own experience, the OBD codes are separate from VIDA codes. For instance, on naturally aspirated Denso ECM equipped engines, when you get a P0420 code it's usually related to ECM-4201. But...I also at one point got a P1177 code, which..had no equivalent VIDA code. P1177 = O2 Correcti...

Re: Can you read mileage when DIM is out? 02 XC70

With a proper CAN tool, yes. But you will need to send out diagnostic commands. Don't know if VIDA can do on the bench.

Re: Can you read mileage when DIM is out? 02 XC70

I just re-read the post. Yes with a non-working DIM in the car, the car can still be READ just fine by VIDA. The mileage is actually stored in several modules PDM, DDM, ECM, DIM and a few more which I cannot remember. It is wise for all of them to be checked(but I don't think it's exposed by VIDA) t...

Re: Swap didn't go so well...05/06 XC70 engine and transmission

Most people do not connect the PNP switch correctly is what I've noticed. It basically has a default hydraulic position for when you are assembling it.

Is this transmission your original or a replacement? It is entirely possible your replacement transmission is just as bad or worse than the old one.

Re: Vida CEM swapping

As I suspected. I've erased the initial stack + PC pointers at top(bottom?) of boot block. Oh yeah. I did it. I BDM'ed the ETM using T5Luke's code. EDIT: I wish to announce with a lot of work, I have managed to revive my ETM. It no longer needs BDM. Patches for T5Luke's Arduino code to allow probing...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

In ghidra, there is no M32C instruction set implemented, so m16c/80 is used. A common instruction missing in m16c/60 and m16c/80 is a SHLNC.L instruction. With below Ghidra SLEIGH functions which are copy pasted from SHL.L we add those to be decoded # (2) :SHLNC.L #imm, Ax :SHLNC.L srcSimm8, dst5Ax ...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

Now that I have resumed my re work on the TCM, I have created a few logs with variables which I consider to be state changes of the physical transmission state. Of course might not be, but it does signal that the transmission is progressing along a shift or is holding a certain state steady. Quite a...
