Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

@ MoVolvos Thanks for your kind words, I do sometimes question my own sanity, I keep telling myself I'm not going to give my next car so much care & attention but I always end up going above and beyond what I really should. At the end of the day it's an 18 year old Volvo and although very good i...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

I went to a Volvo meet yesterday in the Glencoe area of the highlands, no flat roads, little chance for the gearbox to lock up in top gear (50mph) so a lot of driving around in 4th gear. I filled up with Shell V-Power before I left home 255a.jpeg The odometer clicked over 66,000 miles in Glencoe 660...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I run my 850 tank down to ¼ or less and put a bottle of Forte petrol treatment into it before laying up for the winter.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

There's always something that breaks and needs to be repaired/replaced on these cars When I went to fill up with petrol on my way to Glencoe on Sunday my petrol cap retaining strap decided to part company. Once home an online search and £6.06 later two straps from eBay were winging their way to me. ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

@ Neil: Yes the two I purchased were aftermarket but they are still available from Volvo. Not sure how long the aftermarket ones will last but at £6 for two it doesn't really matter. Genuine Volvo part number is 31336424

@ BKM: That's fine until you forget and drive off and the cap is gone forever...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I've been dodging the proverbial bullet for the last 3½ years so decided it was time to purchase a spare fuel pump relay to keep it in the glovebox just in case...
