Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
If anyone knows what these are I'd love to know... 1st pic: Fuel line, please replace ASAP 2nd pic: some vacuum/evap elbow 3rd pic: all look like they should be replaced connector: cannot say, could be anything, possibly headlight motor or wiper or whatever last connector: looks like a temp sensor ...

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
Just had another thought. A failing coolant temp sensor can cause a rich condition. There are topics in the forum on how to test if yours is in spec. Pretty simple and easy to do with a basic multimeter.

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
The best route, in your situation JayPea, is to replace the vacuum lines (and then a Stage 0 ). The reason this step is different than other broken-car scenarios is that you have to replace this vacuum stuff every 10 years anyway. Sometimes less, sometimes more. But yes, DO throw parts at it... vacu...

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
Be sure your coolant temp sensor is plugged in. It's right at the t-stat.

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
Keep searching for that vacuum leak. It might need to be driven some to get it to relearn the fuel trims.

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
Have you checked the trims with the MAF disconnected? The ECU starts to estimate running requirements with no MAF data input. It may help to identify if this is the issue or possibly the upstream O2 sensor needs replaced?

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
Well apart from the money, if you don't know how old they are, it is a worthwhile Stage 0 service to replace the O2 sensors, at least the upstream one if not both. Make sure they are genuine Bosch parts and not copies. So careful where you source them from! If you don't have any junkyards near you w...

Re: 850r failing emissions miserably (HC and CO)
OK another update - I got a vacuum gauge and tested my vacuum, I was getting 15 inhg vacuum before I replace my TCV vacuum lines and now it's slightly lower, between 14 and 15, after replacing them. I also inspected and swapped out some worn-looking elbows but everything else looks relatively decen...
