AEG totally right about those bolts. Make sure they are clean and little tap "star" bit to "shake" the old bolt.
Until you will not correct your coolant temp issues, I would not warry about other codes

Re: New or restore?
If you need a reliable transportation and this is not a spare car, then run away and buy new regular gas corolla(24k or so). We are addicts here with Stockholm syndrome, so be better than us. Only because of FCP euro most of us still justifies having those cars, but honestly we are spending on them ...

Re: 2011 XC60 front end clunking noise
Check your stabilizer bar link. Just did mine and it was showing no damage upon visual inspection, but over bumps was creating significant noise. I was suspecting upper strut plate at first, but finally narrowed it to stabilizer bar link. Upon raising entire front end try turning the wheels from sid...

Re: AC Temp Sensor Problem - 2000 V70 FWD NA
3.5h to be exact. Was just told that by dealer last week. Dealer recommended to save them and myself time and just go with new compressor. I agree with abscate that clutch gap is the first thing that needs to be checked. I think the spec is 0.3-0.5mm 1st-check gap. If it is far away from spec-look a...

Re: 2001 v70xc AC clutch
I gave up. AC evacuation is $80-100, recharge is about $120. Purchasing evacuation pump, storage cylinder, leak detector sniffer will be around $500 for Vevor or similar brand. Not filling like breathing R134a or releasing it into atmosphere..plus I guess not filling like doing it myself as well(mid...

Re: 2007 V70 135K harsh, noisy suspension suggestions
I used to have P1(98v70xc) and currently have P2 and several P3 in the family. Among 3 of them, P2 front suspension is just "Lego " with proper spring tamer. No evil press in wheel bearings, no rusted iron knuckles, just epiphany of engineering talent. Yes, all suspension components of XC ...

Re: Going to need a lot of parts, lot of help and do a lot of reading..
Look with boroscope inside the cylinders. If too much rust...hopefully no, so after investigation put 20cc of fresh oil into each cylinder. Replace oil now. Count on all rubber parts(cam shaft, crank shaft being dry and leaking at this time. Hope you have enough money and patience to play with it. P...

Re: Going to need a lot of parts, lot of help and do a lot of reading..
While you are doing the pump, probably would be best to replace 0-ring for the pump assembly cap and evacuate all the old gas. I am not sure about MY99 but my 98v70Xc needed to have a cut in the sheet metal below rear seats to replace fuel pump without dropping the tank. Look at our pinned topics at...

Re: Going to need a lot of parts, lot of help and do a lot of reading..
It is 26y.o "vintage". I would hope that some of our v70R owner members will share their expertise on what parts are good and what are not. Somehow I am questioning how much oem parts would be available at this point given age of the car. Fcp euro is a great resource with lifetime warranty...

Re: Volvo V8 misfire help
Thats some serious sludge in that engine..I would question in what condition are the VVT hubs and solenoid with all that gunk. Try to use avoid using engine cleaners at this time and rather use regular oil with frequent oil changes(will be safer than dumping all that junk throughout the engine). I a...
