Re: Caked Grease Remover

DMSO. Brush it into the cooked grease, it will soften it.

Re: Detecting exhaust gas in the cabin. Carbon monoxide?

permitted exposures of CO are low - in the range of 50 ppm.

Re: I’m devastated - 02 V70 2.4T engine is toast

Very interesting. What exactly happened here? Oil cooler broke and forced the oil pressure inside the water system causing the hose to blow up? But that doesn't explain how that small seal popped out.

Re: '91 240 Wagon Won't Start Intermittently

Intermittent starts are hard to diagnose. I would start by connecting a fuel pressure gauge that you can leave on the car. When it does not start, see if you have fuel pressure. If it starts, note the fuel pressure when running. Try some starter fluid in the air intake if you have a no start and see...

Re: Serpentine Belt Stopped Spinning - Bad Read Overrun Pulley?

Thanks again for the responses Vova. I'm going to start digging into this weekend so we will see. Hopefully it's just the right side drive pulley that is bad!

Re: Unusual noise at cold start 1994 940 wagon NA

UPDATE: because the 945 was originally sold in California, it has the pulse air system. The sound is

The valve pictured is the max pressure relief. The other item holding pressure is the check vale integrated into fuel pump. When you hook up the fuel line to sender top you have both in the circuit. Did you remove the sender and actually see it dripping? The fuel sender assembly fixes both leak sour...

Re: Shell Rotella T6 - 1 Gallon (3 Pack) $59.98 Stock Up

I'm sure we have had this conversation before. This oil is listed as for diesel engines. I was always told this was not suitable for gasoline engines. I have looked at it many times but have not pulled the trigger because of that. Oh, and they are selling it up here from Amazon for $160 CDN!

Re: No start on 1973 144E after restoring engine compartment.

Good news! I have solved the no start issue on my 1973 144. Somehow a wire inside a bundle running from the main relay (attached to the fuel pump relay) to the coil was broken. This explains why I couldn't hear the pressure up indication when the key was turned on. Routed a new wire and the car star...
