Re: Custom 3D Printed Parts for P80 Volvos
Things that come to mind would be any and all interior trim pieces, I designed a replacement for the inner door handle housing several years ago. I bet it would go better in ASA now. Door cards would interesting. The holy grail of interior parts will always be with the dash board. The piece of the d...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I might do the capacitor replacement preemptively. with how fragile my fuse/relay holder plastic is, it would also be great if someone knows the capacitors I'd need so I can minimize the risks. another thing I noticed today is that my ECT has no harness. Does anyone know what the connection type is...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
V70 was struggling to cold start and started having so misses under load on the highway a good way from home. First suspect was the fuel pump hose again, pulled the pump in a hardware store parking lot (getting really good at it, under 5 minutes!), looked fine, drove home with a light right foot. H...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I plan to do an oil change soon and it has me wondering something Would an engine oil flush work for the bottom channel of the PCV? It was clogged when I replaced the box and the lines, and the usual method seems to be oil pan removal. Would there be a chance that an oil flush can dissolve the bloc...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I spent last week and the week before preparing Harold for a trip from Connecticut to Denver, Colorado. My kid and her boyfriend are going to spend the summer there and if they find jobs may stay for a while longer :( A bunch of stuff needed to be done: oil change, tranny drain and fill, new wiper a...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Noticed a new leak today. Looks like water, wet spot is around the back of the engine in like with the driver (LHD). Are there any common leaks here? Turbo water line? It could be the turbo coolant line that runs under the intake, or it could even be the lower radiator hose connection to the rear w...

Newcomers guide to ownership and maintenance
Here is a list of resources for people new to ownership and/or maintenance of Volvo and the 850 / S/V/C70 (the P80 platform). Despite the age of these cars, I still see new owners posting here eager to tear into their projects. This information is also for owners who might have missed some of these ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Skandix have been finding alternate parts for older Volvo's for years. Generally speaking their parts are good. As to the other option it would be good to know for the older P80's (850's) if the VW/BMW part works as well as it may give as an option going forward. Not sure what that price translates ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Remove the wiper mechanism and motor (the whole unit). Read why below! The wiper harms are splined but very soft aluminum in the arms. If they are loose or not torque enough the come loose and wear out inside the arm itself and then they don't grip properly. You will need another wiper arm and remov...

Re: Fuel Pump Relay 9434225 Examinations 1998 v70 non turbo
My 11 year old fuel pump relay just failed... took it out and inspected it: many of the solder joints have cracks. The biggest cracks are on the pins to the relay frame (first picture below at lower mag, pictures two and three are close-ups of each pin on the relay frame). One of the diodes and seve...
