Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
If you are pulling the oil pan then the seals are between the pan and the block. You can then tackle the PCV as well as you will have access to the bottom of the lower drain tube from the oil separator can and the bottom of the drain into the oil pan. Best access to 100% clean it. If you are thinkin...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Some comments on the current topics… AT-205 is a great product with little worry about it messing anything up. I used it in a Ford 302 in my old Mountaineer and it slowed the oil leaks, but did not stop them. This truck had a bad oil pan and RMS leak though, so that’s something to keep in mind in th...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Yikes, but backs up the point we have made on replacing these while in there or even preemptively at this age of the cars. Thanks for sharing that as it makes the point perfectly as to why to do it!

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I don't have an 850 for comparison to help. If this link works does this help with the positioning you are trying to figure outs?

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Looking at the missing bolt question, while I have difficulty orientation where on the car it is, it does look as Abscate has said possibly part of the motor mount bracket as that looks like the RHS of the transmission and possibly the speed sensor below it. I would suggest it is needed as it looks ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Stepped into the car and heard a splash. Driver's side front and rear footwells were both standing water. It's been sitting for about a week, and in that time we've had a couple of typhoons. No sunroof so I suspect the rear corner of the driver's door gasket which has let in a few drops before. Pul...

Re: Rear trans/engine support bracket missing/sheared bolts
The broken bolt is the upper hole. I have no way to see into it but if I I poke into it with a stick or similar I can feel it just barely go in and hit something solid. I'm assuming it's a sheared bolt. I want to avoid installing 2 out of the three only for both of them to shear. The single bolt le...

Re: Rear trans/engine support bracket missing/sheared bolts
Yes, like foggydogg says do not raise the engine more than about and inch/25mm as it can pull the axles out of their seats on the inner ends. Support the engine under the oil pan with a jack and a piece of wood on top to spread the load. Again as foggydogg said, disconnect the upper torque mount and...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you on the weight of the wheel bearing. I weighed my old Volvo wheel bearing in the replacement SKF box. In my case they did not include the 4 new E-Torx bolts or the later style bolt and washer axle retainer. The bearing and box were 8.2lbs. I would allow ...
