It could be the timing belt idler pulley.
Take off all the V belts to test this theory.

Cold maybe...you don't want it hot with no water pump running.
I've sprayed belt dressing on belts in the past and made it WORSE. And old glazed belt might squeak some, see how old they look.

If you take off the belts and they look bad, this would be a great time to replace the belts.
As I recall, removing the fan blade is a big help in changing the belts.
