TCM is innocent until proven guilty. Car off, parking brake set, TCM removed, measure ohms from ECU box TCM connector pin A20 to each of pins A3, A4, A5, A6 in every gear selector position.

Re: Getting up arrow and check engine light on after repairing PNP switch
What was the reason for replacing the PNP switch? Was the plug clean?

Re: Getting up arrow and check engine light on after repairing PNP switch
You are looking for continuity, approx 0 ohms.
In one step, this eliminates both PNP switch and wiring faults, so it’s high value diagnostics.

Is that when the multimeter beeps? Apologies for sounding stupid, I'm not very experienced with a multime...

Re: Getting up arrow and check engine light on after repairing PNP switch
I just followed the write-up you allready have. Lack of precise view from above for alignment marks will get you pretty close...but you need to figure it out where the signal for reverse lights starts and where it ends....somewhere in between is perfect. Write-up says that transmission should be in ...

Re: Getting up arrow and check engine light on after repairing PNP switch
Just to make sure I have this right, I'm looking down into the ECU and TCU housing and I hook up my multimeter like so and test continuity on pins A3 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L), A4 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L), A5 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L) and A6 (jn P, R,N, D, 3, L)? Yes, that's right. If you look at the chart in th...

Re: Getting up arrow and check engine light on after repairing PNP switch
OK! So the switch contacts for C, PA, 50S and BL are good, but A and B are open circuit. Also, the wiring between the ECU box and the transmission is OK. You need to replace the switch or redo the repair. No need to measure across the blue line. Now that we know A20 to A5/A6 are OK, we know the grou...

Re: Getting up arrow and check engine light on after repairing PNP switch
Another note. My guess would be that inside the switch, the innermost trace (closest to the circular hole) is ground, the next is PA, then A, then B; and the outermost two traces are shared between C, 50S and BL; and there is an electrical connection between the innermost two copper brushes at the w...

Re: What preventive maintenance are you doing on your P80 850s and S/V70s?
When one of the wheel bearings on my 2002 S80, with 160K miles was starting to fail 2 years ago, I decided to replace all 4, and also all 4 on my 2001 C70, as that had also passed 160K miles. As it turns out (pun intended), all 4 appeared to be in great shape still. But I felt good about having done...
