Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
That is going to melt that plastic Bumper Chieber - I would steal a cm or two at each joint and add exhuast putty on each joint to keep them in place. If you 2 cm overlap that should work ok.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Does anyone know if the pipes have to be pushed all the way to the end of the connecting pipe? Otherwise it seems that the exhaust is too short for the estate, because the tailpipe is very inwards of the bumper. Hello Chieber, I had a similar problem, mine was also too short. Can you find an extens...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
There’s a oval tailpipe from Simon’s that seems to be 23cm long. This one is only 18cm. So without messing with the exhaust again, I think I’ll try the longer tailpipe first. How is the sound of your exhaust? I’m kind of disappointed in the ferrita cat back. With the oem exhaust I had this nice 5 c...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Fingers crossed they got it right then! Once you get your car. it will have the weight on it and you should be able to see between the top cap and the bearing plate. Hopefully there is a star washer under there!
Good Luck!

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Well done indeed! I like the crash helmet idea, smart move when using spring compressors.
It is scary to think that the garage 'mechanics' are not able to follow simple instructions. What are they doing to other's cars with more complex issues??

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
So my lesson was worth 140 euro plus 120 for new spring compressor. I have learned… to not go back to that shop. The star nut was upside down  Edit: and they didn’t use the rubber spacer. Luckily I had spares. Dude the helmet is perfect. Its giving "Chris Fix" vibes. I have used a w...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
It should drop into the space between the outer fender and the plastic liner. Short of removing the inner fender and if you have a front mudflap on that side, no easy way to get it. You could try and see if you can wedge a flat blade screw driver at the bottom between the plastic and the metal fende...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Great progress and it will all be worth while once you have got all the deferred maintenance and worn parts up-to-date! Heat may help to separate the inner and outer tie rod, lots of it. I have broken 2 x 1/2" breaker bars (yes they lived up to their names) trying to undo the hub nut on P80's. ...

Nuts go forward on the struts. Ok, I just made that up. That is how they come from the factory though…
Be thankful you have the two bolt control arms. The four bolts on the xc70 and awd models are a brutal job
