Re: 1998 S70 GLT - ABS light and Speedo issue (Not ABS module)
Anything errant coming from any of the wheels that is enough to cut out the speedo would have set an absolute minimum of two codes, which would be open circuits on both front wheels. With your regular faulty module you would have an absolute minimum of nine stored codes to reach that point, but the ...

Re: 1999 V70 XC Wheel Speed/ABS Sensors
I personally wouldn't touch them unless you've verified there's an actual issue with them. If you do replace them don't use aftermarket pieces. 50/50 chance that they will actually work.

Safety systems, bandaids and lawsuits
Those of you that have been on the wrong end of a liability lawsuit will know exactly what I'm talking about. You can go about your day and not read this. Those who haven't might want to take a minute to take in some light reading. For the love of God or whatever deity you go for, DO NOT ever apply ...

Re: ABS issues
At this point you can have an ABS module fault and one or more faults outside of the module. It comes with the age.
I tested twelve 96-98 abs modules last week, 5 of the 12 had codes showing faults outside of the module on whatever car they came from.

Re: Does anyone repair ECC modules?
Maybe a new sideline suggestion for Matty Moo? Neil. No idea how I didn't see this six years ago. I likely wouldn't have done it then and I absolutely would not do it now. Anything electrical on an old car is not a fun-filled time for whoever is peddling the parts, as I've discovered in the past fe...

Re: Does anyone repair ECC modules?
You can’t just publish a site and tell people to read the directions and then capture the cash in garbage bins? 😀😀😀 I'm a middle-aged dude trying to limit my contact with people, or at least what a lot of people have become. It used to be a smooth operation up until maybe 5 years ago. That's when I...

Re: How to fix damaged ABS wiring?
If I had to do it again I would Source another connector at the sensor end and any 20-24 gage wire with a good sheath. Make a new section with a heavy heat shrink at the connector end and fit the other side 8n as far I to the firewall as you can. You have to solder it on both ends. It is what it is.

Re: ABS resistance checks out, module repaired, still have codes
If/when you originally scanned it, before repairing it, and got just an abs-312 (circuit fault) without an extrapolation or wrong wheel speed code with it then it is an actual fault in the circuit. With a module fault you'll always have one of those two preceding it. If you want to rule it out send ...
