I had an engine shipped from a yard in California to NJ. I think shipping was around $300. It was one of two engines I had found at the time. The other was way closer to me in NJ. Other terms made CA engine more appealing. (Mostly lower mileage).

The other place I found an engine was Leesville Automotive in Edison? Or maybe Elizabeth, N.J. Leesville had an excellent reputation with my local independent mechanic. Personally, I'd avoid it because of well-known 2001-2002 model year transmission issues (or do some research and use those issues as a bargaining chip). Black interior in the south could be a deal breaker, but I guess you could try heat-rejecting window film. Note: I have only read about this stuff....

I also believe there is heat rejecting film that has little or no tint from some cursory research.
