Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
The Over-the-Engine charge pipe came off in November 2019 to do the coils/plugs, but only on the radiator end. Otherwise, was manipulated out of the way on the firewall end, and with very little movement on that end. I would think if I were to have had a problem there, it would have appeared much s...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
I seem to recall you saying somewhere in the thread that you can clear all the fault codes and the car will run smoothly the first time you start it, but when you shut it off and restart it the second time it runs rough and starts throwing codes. Do I have that right? Also, can you run it as long as...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
I have a roller coaster/mogul field of a steep gravel driveway. Perhaps ECM jolted loose by bouncing up and down the driveway? Regardless, it is going to my local indie. I need the car, and fiscal year end demands at work will preclude me from getting to it. Evan, if you need an ECM removal tool th...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
Perhaps ECM jolted loose by bouncing up and down the driveway? When I mentioned re-seating the ECM earlier in the thread I was thinking more about dirt and oxidation on the 16 year old connections rather than the unit shaking loose. (But hey, you may be right.) When you get numerous, and seemingly ...

Re: '06 V70 R -- DIM Display Flickering
Volvo 3073916 should be what you need. They are $20-30 on eBay most of the time. Or find someone parting out an XC70/V70R/S60R or anything (P2) that has factory equipped fogs.
I’d send you my spare but it’s been repurposed.

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
Volvo specialist thinks it may be a fault with the wiring harness that goes to the throttle body. He said he has seen them fail. I agree the harness from the ECM to the throttle is known to fail and that could explain the throttle-related fault code(s). But what about the other, seemingly errant, c...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
That was the next step I was begrudgingly approaching - contactless ETA(ETB, per Xemodex) and new wire harness (Theirs comes with the wire harness). I inspected my wire harness and connector at ETA & it was pristine and had no wire tension at the ETA connection. I then went with a new Bosch ETA ...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
The 2002 and later that use electric throttle assembly with ZERO processor circuits inside have great reliability but the connector is not durable. I never unplug them unless it is not avoidable. If the engine comes out the throttle gets unbolted and sits somewhere with harness plugged in on it. The...

Re: Windshield washer fluid leak
Does it all drain out, or only if you fill it all the way? I have a leak that lets me fill about 3/4 of the way up i'd say. I think it was clipped while parallel parked, cracking the top of the reservoir slightly. Figure i just won't fill it all the way from now on.
