Re: Misfire at idle, occasionally low speeds. Lots of details

Congratulations on BOTH new babies! I would try swapping in the fuel pressure sensor from the other car. We had a failing FPS in our 2.5T that caused missing problems like yours but it took FOR EVER to finally get a CEL. If that doesn’t help then I’d steal $10 from the diaper fund and go pick up a s...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)

I seem to recall you saying somewhere in the thread that you can clear all the fault codes and the car will run smoothly the first time you start it, but when you shut it off and restart it the second time it runs rough and starts throwing codes. Do I have that right? Also, can you run it as long as...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)

Perhaps ECM jolted loose by bouncing up and down the driveway? When I mentioned re-seating the ECM earlier in the thread I was thinking more about dirt and oxidation on the 16 year old connections rather than the unit shaking loose. (But hey, you may be right.) When you get numerous, and seemingly ...

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)

Volvo specialist thinks it may be a fault with the wiring harness that goes to the throttle body. He said he has seen them fail. I agree the harness from the ECM to the throttle is known to fail and that could explain the throttle-related fault code(s). But what about the other, seemingly errant, c...

Re: Is timing off??

Do NOT loosen the three bolts or you risk being more lost than you may or may not be now. I agree with waiting a day or two to see if it throws a code. I had mine one tooth off and it didn’t throw a code on initial start up. It waited for the second start up to light the CEL.

Rear Wheel Bearings

I have a pair of rear wheel bearing hubs off of my 2003 FWD V70. Thought for sure I had a bearing going out but it turned out to be a bad tire. Not sure what other years/models they will fit. Both carry the part number FAG 801843 40BV so I guess they're interchangeable. Pay the shipping and they're ...

Re: Drive-E - is it reliable?

Purchased a 2018 Drive-E S60 with 4000 miles on it. Today it rolled over 25,000 miles. Opinion - Reliable (so far) and very peppy but noisy, particularly when cold. Starting to develop what sounds like a single valve tap when cold. Dealer blames certain brands of gas but I'm not totally buying into ...

Re: 2007 V70 2.5t Transmission Fluid Level

In my 2003 V70 I found that I had to slightly overfill the fluid in order to stop some slipping I was experiencing on the coldest of mornings when turning left up hill and accelerating all at the same time. As I recall I had to overfill by about 1/2 qt.
