Re: Alignment after shocks

I would. Strut only shouldn't mess with the toe in/out, but it will likely mess with the camber when you reattach the hub/brake assembly. Not as big of a deal as the toe, so you can maybe get away with not doing it.

Re: Headlamp lighting very poor on my '98 S70

PSA for those who get the ABMs: they are projectors, but there are NOT HID projectors. Don't put HID bulbs in there. Agreed. I tried HIDs in mine at first. They were bright, but had bad flickering and tended to get hot in the housing. I run LEDs now and modified the dust boots to accommodate the he...

Re: Automatic Transmission Dip Stick

It's probably just stuck on due to not being used much (I'm guessing?). I'd try soaking the seal with some penetrating oil or something for a while and then see if you can gently twist and break it free. I'm not familiar with 2001+ models, but if it's anything like the older ones, the danger is that...

Hood position pro tip

So I've had my car 10 years now, it's been in the family since new, and I've done almost every repair to this car in that time. I've somehow managed to avoid learning that you can position the hood straight up. Sharing this in case anyone missed it like I did. It certainly gives more headroom if you...

Re: 1999 V70 XC AWD starter replacement

It's a tight fit, but it should come out with enough wiggling and pushing the manifold inlet pipe towards the rear of the car. The pipe is attached to the electronic throttle body by a single hose clamp. In some cases, the hose clamp may be accessible with a long screwdriver and you can remove the p...
