Re: V70 VERY bad oil leak

Even though your car is non-turbo there is a machined hole for the turbocharger's oil return line.
This hole is capped and that cap can come off. I've seen pictures so it must be true.
There was a p/n for the cap in the post I read.
That's all I have. Kira

Re: How to change the fuel filter on a 2004 V70 (video)

Just adding data here:
My 1999 and 2002 both had plastic (FRP?) tanks and external gas filters.
My 2007 has a steel tank and no external filter.
All 3 were non-turbos.
The internal filters seem 9" long in the drawings I've seen and I bet they have a l-o-n-g service life.

Re: Resetting SRS Airbag light after DIM repair and question about dealing with dealership

FYI: I reset my SRS light (after the front seat was removed with the battery still connected) with a BSR-PPC reader.
Too bad there's so much distance between Milwaukee and Hackensack.

Re: Transmission fluid flush or fill?

This is what you do. Get 4 quarts of suitable transmission fluid, an 18mm drain plug gasket (looks like a thin washer) and a 24mm wrench. Graduate an old gallon jug (by pints) and drain the trannie's sump. Measure the volume of the drained fluid (it'll be anywhere from 3.25 to 3.75 qt.) and refill. ...

Re: S60 advice on whether to buy

Inspect it yet? I don't remember if Volvo coolant leaves a "snowy" residue as some do. Then again, what has the owner been refreshing the coolant with? Automatic trans.? Check the fluid's color and smell. Again, here is where I urge someone in your position to do a drain & fill. What's...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

Thanks for the data plate video. My '07 has no such plate on the fender.

Come 2007 Volvo put small, soft black stickers in the rear door jambs-one on each side.

Professional body guys couldn't find the old style plate and told me my car must've been side trashed and rebuilt very well.

Gotta laugh!

Re: One bottle of Toyota T-IV in a transmission with original fluid

I love these SPECIFIC threads. The subject has been around so long I'm surprised nobody has crafted the responses into a chart. Honestly, the errors mentioned-then the corrections-then the unexplained omissions make these threads hard to read. I maintained a 2002 Volvo V70 and a 2002 Saab 9-5 Linear...

Re: Maybe it's just me, but this 0W-30 oil is impressive in very cold weather

My experience with cold temps is limited but we did just go through 2 spates of comparable weather. Been using a variety of 5W-30 oils (any brand conv. or syn.) for ~15 years in "the same" engine. I've never noticed anything amiss during the coldest of cold start ups. I read about Mobil1 0...

Re: 2008 S60 low beam bulb failure

Absolutely use dielectric grease, silicone grease or Vasaline. I just changed mine and resorted to removing the air box. It really is not that hard to remove and was actually faster. For the right side I have designed a tool for ease of removal. Sadly, I didn't even examine the sockets so I cannot a...

Re: 2008 S60 low beam bulb failure

hu5ker555: What bulb are we talking about here? H11 or H7 or other?

I empathize with your plight.
