Re: Generic P80 AC clutch shim , bread clip, zip tie thread
Well, I finally did the zip-tie shim. I only used two ties, as close to 180 degrees apart as possible. Installed 6 on the C30 today. I didn't like the idea of distorting the circular springs with just 3 so used 6 instead. Had a choice of 3 ties and 2 colors. Decided on the small black ones. Using y...

Re: Anyone used VDASH? How to decode CEM PIN?
P2 PIN routine is very different from P3. Brute-forcing CEM PIN on P2 takes up to 42 (older 250 Kbps CAN) or 21 (newer 500 Kbps) years. A bunch of people here on MVS have figured out how to deal with that and get the pin in under 1 hour (usually about 15-20 minutes), see the thread reference in sign...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
MVS Readers, I drove to Southern California from the Bay Area and back again. Because it was going to be a long trip we took the Volvo. Each way was about 380 miles and the S80 accomplished it on a single tank of gas each way. The speed was too high for good fuel economy but it was still respectabl...

Time to go. Thanks for everything!
This forum has been awesome for the last ten years, helping keep my 98 V70XC on the road. I can't thank you all enough. The time has come... she blew a head gasket again due to the terrible EGR design and I just couldn't justify another rebuild. I managed to snag an 05 Honda Pilot for a song and am ...

Re: Mileage is Only a Number
I purchased our family 1998 V70 new when my daughter was born. It is now her first car. What does a 263,281 mile car look like? It's been to the moon (another thread for an earlier generation car exists on this site)! Well, I refreshed it last month. Repaired and refinished all the relevant parts i...
