Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
xHeart, if you have time/inclination to take and post photos of this equipment and resulting installation, I'd love to see. I don't follow much of what you wrote, but I think it would come together if I could see photos. Just a little request, don't take the time if you can't. :) Here is a picture ...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
R1 Concepts pieces of crap on my V70R. They both stop well enough, but squeal like hell. . When you go to Amazon and look at all the manufacturers, they all kind of copy each other. The only generic brand I've used has been StopTech. I consider StopTech and R1 Concept generics. They groan really lo...

Re: Does a 1998 V70 have a CAN bus? Is there a place to tap in to the system?
I have just realized most of the posts by ThaddeusTheBold will be about electric conversion of his 98 V70. These interest me and I will try to follow them.

Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
I am still not finished with the garage walk in door replacement. I need to finish paint touchup and the inside trim, and seal under the sill. I have also returned to broken brick replacement for the brick walls. Mortar work must wait until next week after a few days of cold front and first frost. ...

Re: Opinions wanted: Do I go through with this repair?
How much do you like the car? For most of us on this forum we love our Volvo's. Owning a 20 year old car and using it as a daily driver can start to test one's enthusiasm if you're not a DIY'er. It sounds like you have a pretty good car with great maintenance history with plenty of miles left. I wou...

Re: Opinions wanted: Do I go through with this repair?
I wrote a VVT Hub DIY in this forum for the 2007 S60. It is quite a bit of work but with proper tools/techqniues, it can be done for the price of the VVT Hub (~ $220 when on sale). Do NOT buy used VVT Hub, not worth it bc it is a lot of labor. Here is the DIY 2007 S60 VVT Hub: https://www.matthewsvo...

Re: 1997 850 out of alignment after CV Axle replacement
For the grinding, check the simplest things, like the brake dust shield being bent onto the rotor.

Re: Mold removal from complete interior
The only things in the car with the mold were the lovely front seats I rescued from a junkyard. I moved them to another place for storage, but that place had more moisture than the car, promoting visible mold growth on the seats. Mostly green mold but a little bit of brown. My emergency intervention...
